Bucs sign Makonese Posted on Saturday, January 31, 2009 - 10:48  Orlando Pirates has acquired the services of Zvenyika Makonese from Engen Santos on a two and a half year contract.
The 31-year old defender joins the Buccaneers after an agreement had been reached between both clubs on Friday afternoon.
Makonese has expressed excitement having signed for the Sea Robbers.
He said: “It’s a great pleasure to have joined a big club such as Orlando Pirates. It’s a good move and will definitely benefit my football career.
“When my manager first told me that Pirates were interested in my services, I felt humbled and waited in anticipation to put pen to paper. At some stage, I felt very worried when I saw the registration deadline approaching, without anything happening.
“Nevertheless, it’s all history now, I’m now a Pirates player and I look forward to add value to the team.”
